
Paul is Chief Operating Officer at Upstream Asia. A marketing specialist with a focus on technology and media businesses in the Asia Pacific region, Paul has a wide range of marketing experience covering old and new economy communications challenges, as well as investor and internal relations.
Paul was previously Chief Executive Officer of Gorilla Asia, which merged with Upstream Asia in June 2001. At Gorilla, Paul oversaw all aspects of its business, including conferences, special events and online content.
Prior to that, Paul spent nine years with NASDAQ-listed Global Sources (previously known as Asian Sources) most recently as Vice President of Corporate Marketing, heading worldwide marketing efforts to its customer and investor audiences.
At Global Sources, Paul held a variety of marketing and sales positions in Hong Kong and Manila, Philippines, including regional sales manager for Asian Electronics Engineer magazine (since renamed EE Times Asia) and marketing manager for the company's technical electronics publishing group.
Born and educated in the United Kingdom, he began his career in 1989 working as account executive for Team, a public relations company in London, before moving to Asia in 1992. He holds a BA (Econ) Honours degree in Government and Political Theory from the University of Manchester.
